California Billiards to host an ‘Official’ Matchroom Sport, U.S. Open 9-Ball qualifying tournament one week prior to the event

Last Chance to Qualify for the U.S. Open 9-Ball at California Billiards
In support of many hopeful players who, wish to qualify for the 2019, U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship at the Mandalay Bay Hotel/Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada; California Billiards in Fremont, California has coordinated directly with Matchroom Sport to host an Official, ‘U.S. Open, 9-Ball Qualifier’ event with additional payouts to the top 16-24 players (based on final field size). Open to 128 players, California Billiards is adding $2,000 with no green fees attached; entries will be ‘tiered’ based on each player’s Fargo Rating.

April of 2019, is set to be a record-breaker in cue sports history, as players from all over the world will touchdown in Las Vegas to attend the 43rd annual, US Open 9-Ball Tournament at the prestigious, Mandalay Bay Hotel Resort. Boasting a total prize fund of $300,000; Matchroom Multi Sport’s recent acquisition of the ‘U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship’ franchise from the Behrman estate in 2017; a franchise that was launched in 1976 by Barry Behrman who passed in April 23, 2016.

1st Place Awarded a U.S. Open Entry + $750 (expense award)
Additional Payouts: Based on remaining prize fund
Double Elimination: Race to 8/8
Official U.S. Open Rules Observed
Tiered Entry Fees: Based on Fargo Rating
- 720+ = $200 entry
- 719-640 = $125 entry
- 639-575 = $75 entry
- 574 & Under = $40 entry
